The adults all drank red wine, which later in life, I have become quite fond of.  Back then, conversations would linger well into the warm summer nights..

Animal Antics and The Invisible Fence..

We do not  have a fenced-in yard. So we chose the Invisible Fence to keep our dogs on our property, they will be at the Home Expo this year in Booth 123A, at the Times Union Center! We are really happy that we don’t have to have a fence around our home. The only downfall we can see so far is that wildlife always and I mean always ventures into our yard to taunt our dogs.

The Story of Soapstone

As the granite countertop trend continues to slowly ebb in high-end homes, other alternatives are starting to pick up in popularity. Soapstone is a natural material, a metamorphic rock that is composed primarily of talc with varying amounts of chlorite, micas, amphiboles, carbonates and other minerals. It has been known for centuries for its ability to retain heat (for example, all of our original hearthstones in the farmhouse are made of soapstone). At Green Mountain Soapstone they are unsurpassed in quality, and the largest soapstone supplier to the USA and Canada. They are at booth 133A at the Times Union to help with more information about Soapstone in your home.

The Local Decorating Resource..Home Depot

As an incurable DIY’er one of my favorite haunts is Home Depot. A surprising number of objects in my home come from this Big Box Store. That’s partly because I love a somewhat rustic look and also because the store’s prices are usually very good. I love walking through Home Depot and BAM.. it strikes like a hot iron instant inspiration!
