Visit friends, family members and colleagues who have renovated recently. Consider your lifestyle and the needs of your family, both in the short and long term. Discuss your project with a designer or decorator for contractor recommendations.
About the only thing that makes bidding summer farewell easier, is the gorgeous fall season that awaits. With the cooler weather upon us you can embrace all those cozy elements of fall. Think changing leaves, pumpkins, corn stalks and a return to cozy fabrics with texture and a little heavier weight.

As time passes our family home matures. Trees Grow and so do the children. The landscape gets worn, and gone are the swing sets. Our needs and uses for the outdoor space have changed. Priorities often change, and our children leave the nest. We find ourselves with more free time to relax and enjoy our home. Being cooped up inside during the cold winter months especially here in upstate New York, is not our idea of enjoyment. Maximizing the space in your back yard is one way to enjoy it year round, even when your sitting inside looking out.

There is a small boutique located at 271 River Street in the heart of historical Troy, NY. The shop owner is Theresa Hovish Van Duyne a retired Art teacher, opened T & J Hand Crafted Soap in 2012. She makes about 40 different varieties of Cold pressed soaps including soaps made from local beer, wine and tea.
