Design Within Reach..

Projects are always a journey, sometimes (or most times) they start slowly. Finding contractors and building a team to execute the inspired idea you have can, well… be a journey in itself.  But the outcome is why you enter the adventure.

The Times Union Home Expo is a great venue to find resources that will help you get on the road to building or renovating your home.

I’d like to share some projects that our Pro’s who will be at the TU Home Expo this year have Completed:

Habitat Post and Beam, post and beam is a style of construction that allows you to see the supporting framework of the home.  The exposed wood makes a beautiful home that stands apart from conventional framing.  The amount of exposed wood can be changed to fit your personal preferences.

Harvest Homes builds Prefabricated homes. They have been building distinctive, energy efficient custom homes since 1961. Prefabricated means the homes are built in sections in a building facility then moved to a site and assembled.

This addition is brought to you courtesy of  HRS Construction, Inc. the company was founded in 1999 by Thomas Hindes Sr., Stanley Rosenberg and Paul Sleasman. Each partner brings to you many years of experience in general contracting, carpentry, and management. Their projects are both residential and commercial levels of construction.

Knapp Builders will design and personally build your new home or commercial space.  Doing the majority of the work themselves, using subcontractors only when necessary. They build quality and integrity into every home. A family business for 45 years.

What are you working on this year? As a designer I envision, plan and outfit spaces in a way that makes them both beautiful and functional. I balance aesthetic considerations helping with structural planning to reflect the clients’ lifestyle, set the desired mood, complement the home’s features, and ensure that less glamorous details (like electrical outlets and air vents) fit into the scheme. An interior designer also cultivates relationships. A tricky job, for anyone who has worked with Contractors, and people of the trade.

Stop in and let me help you navigate your way through the Home Expo. I’m in booth #328 again this year and I hope to see you all there!

As Always stay tuned for more Adventures in Styleland…
